After Hours
Think M*A*S*H-meets-ER. A motley crew of rogue ex-Army surgeons bring humor and rock-n-roll energy to the night shift at a chaotic trauma center in San Antonio, Texas. 90210 scribes Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah will write and executive-produce with Taken’s Pierre Morel. Freddy Rodriguez (Six Feet Under), Jeananne Goossen, Brendan Fehr, Brigid Brannagh, Jill Flint (Royal Pains), Ken Leung (Lost), Robert Bailey, Jr. and J.R. Lemon will star.

An unlikely relationship develops between a young girl with a gift and a man (Jake McLaughlin) sprung from prison who has been tasked with protecting her from the evildoers who covet her power. Harry Potter’s Alfonso Cuaron and The Forgotten’s Mark Friedman will write and executive-produce with Lost’s J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk.

The Blacklist
The world’s most wanted criminal mysteriously turns himself in and offers to give up everyone he has ever worked with. His only condition: He will only work with a newly minted FBI agent with whom he appears to have no connection. Perfect Stranger’s Jon Bokenkamp will write and executive-produce with Alias’ John Eisendrath.

Bird Benson (Skyler Samuels), a smart, irreverent young girl, finds herself caught between two warrior families in modern suburbia in this pulpy, highly stylized series. David Graziano (Awake) will write and executive-produce with Friday Night Lights’ Peter Berg. Jonathan Banks and KaDee Strickland will also star.

Hatfields & McCoys
Set in present-day Pittsburgh, a startling death reignites the feud between the legendary families. Unleashing decades of resentment, the blue-collar McCoys will put the Hatfields’ wealth and power at risk as they battle for control of the city. Eagle Eye scribe John Glenn will write and executive-produce with Charlize Theron. Virginia Madsen will star.

I Am Victor
Based on Jo Nesbo’s upcoming novel of the same name, Victor Port, an iconoclastic divorce attorney, helps clients embrace their new lives. West Wing’s Mark Goffman will write, while House’s Katie Jacobs and Nesbo will executive-produce.

In a remake of the 1960s drama, an acerbic police detective (Blair Underwood) who uses a wheelchair pushes and prods his hand-picked team to solve the most difficult cases in the city. The Sopranos’ Michael Caleo will write and executive-produce with American Horror Story’s David Semel.

The Secret Lives of Husbands and Wives
Three couples in the idyllic community of Saddle Hills, Calif., live secret lives. Sascha Penn (Imagination Movers) will write and executive-produce with Jerry Bruckheimer. Jake Miller, Laura Allen, Perrey Reeves, Olivia Luccardi, James Tupper, Martin Henderson, Jesse L. Martin and Nicole Ari Parker will star.

The Sixth Gun
Based on the best-selling Oni Press graphic novel, this supernatural Western tells the tale of six mythical guns with otherworldly powers. Ryan Condal will write, while Lost’s Carlton Cuse will executive-produce.

Untitled Rand Ravich Project
Washington’s most powerful players, including the president, find themselves blackmailed into an international conspiracy by an unlikely puppeteer. The FBI and a rookie Secret Service agent must unravel the mystery. Life’s Rand Ravich will write and executive-produce with Far Shariat.

When a mysterious stranger offers to help Clara deal with a past tragedy, she ends up waging a war against a malevolent queen, who we once knew as Alice. Whit Anderson will write and executive-produce with CSI creator Anthony Zuiker.


About a Boy
Based on the Nick Hornsby novel and Hugh Grant film, a loutish bachelor (David Walton) finds his priorities in life shifting after he befriends an awkward young neighbor. Parenthood’s Jason Katims will write and executive-produce with original Boy producers Robert DeNiro, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Jane Rosenthal. Jon Favreau will helm the pilot. Minnie Driver will also star.

An idealistic assistant (Krysten Ritter) tries to find balance in her life as she strives to please her larger-than-life boss. Leslye Headland (Bachelorette) will write and executive-produce with Saturday Night Live alum Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Chris Henchy and Owen Burke.

Brenda Forever
We meet Brenda Miller through a double narrative of the protagonist at 13 and 31 (played by The Office’s Ellie Kemper). David Lampson and ex-Bones serial killer Andrew Leeds will write and executive-produce with Rescue Me’s Peter Tolan and Michael Wimer.

The Donor Party
A man learns that he has several children from early-life sperm donations to a disheveled widow and her lesbian neighbors. Argo’s Alex Schemmer will write and executive-produce with Magic City executive producer Geyer Kosinski.

The Gates
A raw look at the intense, political world of… elementary school drop-off! What Women Want scribes Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa will write and executive-produce with The Neighbors’ Aaron Kaplan. Kathleen Rose Perkins, Diana Maria Riva, Christina Kirk, Josh Grisetti, Greg Germann, Ken Marino, Stephen Guarino, Gunnar Sizemore and Kylie Rogers will star. Echo Kellum will guest-star.

Girlfriend in a Coma
After almost two decades, a 34-year-old woman (Christina Ricci) wakes up from a coma to find out that she has a 17-year-old daughter from a pregnancy she was unaware of when her life was put on hold. Nurse Jackie’s Liz Brixius will write and executive-produce with Law & Order’s Dick Wolf, Chicago Fire’s Danielle Gelber and SVU’s Peter Jankowski.

Holding Patterns
A group of friends’ lives change after they survive a plane crash. The Office’s Justin Spitzer will write and executive-produce alongside Samantha Who?’s Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan.

Joe, Joe & Jane
A conflict-avoidant children’s book author (Will Greenberg) deals with his needy wife (Sally Pressman) and best friend (Dave Annable). The IT Crowd’s Joe Port and Joe Wiseman will write and executive-produce with The Big Bang Theory’s Mark Cendrowski. McKenna Grace, Lauren Lapkus, Asif Ali and Larry Wilmore will star.

A group of friends, dubbed the ”Undateables,” welcome a more confident guy to their fold. Due Date scribe Adam Sztykiel will write and executive-produce with Cougar Town’s Bill Lawrence.

Matthew Hirsch is ready to find love, but needs his three best friends to navigate the labyrinth of mind games and human suffering that is dating in your early 20s. Robert Padnick will write and executive-produce with The Office’s Greg Daniels.

Untitled Victor Fresco and Sean Hayes Project
Will & Grace alum Sean Hayes stars as a father who must figure out how to parent his 14-year-old daughter while dealing with a temperamental new boss. Better Off Ted’s Victor Fresco will write and executive-produce with Hayes, and Hot in Cleveland’s Todd Milliner. Echo Kellum and Linda Lavin will also star.

Untitled John Mulaney Project
Loosely based on the life of the young stand-up comedian John Mulaney, who will write, produce and star in this ensemble comedy. Saturday Night Live’s Lorne Michaels and 30 Rock producers Andrew Singer and David Miner will executive-produce.

Untitled D.J. Nash Project
A son who idolizes his blind father (J.K. Simmons) and is bemused by his precocious mother (Parker Posey) watches his family become closer post-divorce. ‘Til Death’s D.J. Nash will write and executive-produce with Arrested Development’s Jason Bateman.

Welcome to the Family
Cultures collide when a white family — Mike O’Malley among them — and a Latino family bond when their children fall in love followed and plan a family in this comedy from Rules of Engagement’s Mike Sikowitz.

Pilot Picks: FOX (2013)


Felicity Huffman will star as Margie Hamilton, the matriarch of a family of assassins, who has to balance the demands of motherhood with her unusual job. Davey Holmes will write and executive-produce with fellow Shameless producers John Wells and Andrew Stearn. Hustle & Flow’s Craig Brewster is set to direct, and he will also receive producer credit on the pilot.

Based on a best-selling trilogy about a world in which love is deemed illegal, Lena Holoway (Emma Roberts) does the unthinkable just 95 days before a scheduled treatment will remove her ability to love: She meets a great guy. Prison Break’s Karyn Usher will write and executive-produce with New Girl producers Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope. Billy Campbell will also star.

Gang Related

A gang member sent in to infiltrate the San Francisco Police Department and rise through its ranks must balance his obligations to his crime family with an increasing sense of loyalty to his new ”family”: the SFPD’s Gang Task Force. Fast Five scribe Chris Morgan will write and executive-produce with V’s Scott Rosenbaum and Brian Grazer.

The List
A U.S. Marshal leads the hunt for the person who stole ”The List,” a file that reveals the identities of everyone in the Federal Witness Security Program, who begin showing up dead. Daybreak creator Paul Zbyszewski will write and executive-produce with Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer. Richard T. Jones and Charity Wakefield will star.

Greg Kinnear stars as a brilliant, charming defense attorney whose biggest challenges all exist outside the courtroom — money owed to the IRS and a bookie, overlapping affairs, a cranky kid and his exhausted ex-wife. Peter Duncan, creator of the original Australian series, and Rescue Me’s Peter Tolan will write and executive-produce. Miranda Otto, Necar Zadegan and Bojana Novakovic will also star.

Sleepy Hollow
Ichabod Crane partners with Sleepy Hollow’s sheriff to solve the mysteries of a town ravaged by the battle between good and evil. Fringe’s Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci will write and executive-produce.

Untitled J.H. Wyman Project
This action-packed buddy cop show is set in a future in which LAPD officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids. Fringe’s J.H. Wyman, who will write, will reteam with Lost’s J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk as executive producers.

Wild Blue
An upstairs-downstairs look at the working men and women aboard an aircraft carrier with 6,000 souls on board. Justified’s Taylor Elmore will write and co-executive-produce with Breaking Bad’s Melissa Bernstein, while Justified creator Graham Yost will executive-produce.


After being in combat for several years, Pete is posted at a military base in Florida to command his dysfunctional brother’s squad. Cougar Town’s Kevin Biegel will write and executive-produce with Saturday Night Live’s Mike Royce. Keith David will co-star.

Friends and Family

A couple’s long-distance, budding romance is constantly disrupted by their friends and family in this comedy based on the British series Gavin and Stacey. David Rosen (I Just Want My Pants Back) will write and executive-produce. Parenthood’s Jason Ritter will star.

The Gabriels
A neurotic family with contempt for all things normal tries their best to fit into a small Midwest town where everyone knows each other and politeness reigns. The Last Exorcism’s Andrew Gurland and The League’s Justin Hurwitz will write and executive-produce, with Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin and Running Wilde’s Paul Young and Peter Principato. Rob Riggle and River Alexander will star.

To My Assistant
The assistants at a big New York law firm band together to help each other cope with their obnoxious, overbearing bosses. Friends writer Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Ellen Kreamer (The New Adventures of Old Christine) will write and executive-produce, with Gangster Squad’s Dan Lin and Jennifer Gwartz (Party Down) also on board as executive producers.

Two Wrongs
Two star-crossed lovers, Nick and Jenny, must contend with Nick’s family’s strong dislike of Jenny, the woman who left Nick at the altar seven years ago. Michelle Morgan will write and executive-produce with New Girl producers Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope and The Neighbors’ Aaron Kaplan.

Untitled Dan Goor/Mike Schur Project

A group of detectives — including Saturday Night Live alum Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Terry Crews and Melissa Fumero — form an odd family in a police precinct in the outermost neighborhood of New York City. Parks and Recreation’s Mike Schur and Dan Goor will write and executive-produce with 30 Rock’s David Miner. Samberg will also produce. Stephanie Beatriz and Chelsea Peretti will also star.

A car accident leaves a family’s patriarch in a coma-like state where he cannot speak or move, but can hear. His narration and various fantasy sequences provide a wry counterpoint to the stories and conflicts of his family, which includes Madeline Carroll. Awkward’s Vera Herbert will write and serve as a supervising producer, while Smash’s David Marshall Grant will executive-produce with Elementary producers Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly.

Company Town
A scandal at a Navy base in Virginia divides best friends. Supernatural’s Sera Gamble will write and executive-produce with Oscar winner Taylor Hackford and Rizzoli & Isles’ Bill Haber.

The Hundred
Nearly a century after a nuclear war has destroyed civilization, a spaceship sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth to investigate the possibility of re-colonizing. Based on the forthcoming Kass Morgan book of the same name, Jason Rothenberg will write and executive-produce with Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo.

The Originals
An upcoming Vampire Diaries episode will act as a backdoor pilot for a spin-off about the show’s Original Family. Klaus (Joseph Morgan) returns to New Orleans — a town he helped build centuries ago — to reunite with his diabolical former protégé Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). Diaries executive producer Julie Plec will write and executive-produce, alongside Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo. Daniel Gillies, Claire Holt, Phoebe Tonkin, Daniella Pineda, Leah Pipes and Danielle Campbell will also star.

An epic romance ignites between a human girl (Aimee Teegarden) and an alien boy when he and eight others of his kind start attending high school in the suburbs. The Good Wife’s Meredith Averill will write and executive-produce with Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol producer Josh Appelbaum.

Watch as a 15-year-old Mary Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane) arrives in France, betrothed to Prince Frances. She must survive fierce foes, dark forces and a world of sexual intrigue. Outlaw’s Stephanie Sengupta and CSI: Miami’s Laurie McCarthy will write and executive-produce.

The Selection
Originally set up at the network last pilot season, this Hunger Games-meets-The Bachelor drama follows a working-class young woman chosen by lottery to participate in a competition with 25 other women to become the nation’s next queen. Based on Kiera Cass’ book of the same name, Selection will be written and executive-produced by The Vampire Diaries’ Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain.

The Tomorrow People
Based on the U.K. series of the same name, it’s the story of several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution, possessing special powers like teleportation and telepathy. They work together to defeat the forces of evil. Chuck’s Phil Klemmer will write and executive-produce with The Vampire Diaries’ Julie Plec and Arrow’s Greg Berlanti.
